Default Best clutch for 200-250 bhp??

Need a new clutch for my s2, previously had a Borg and Beck 4 paddle in it, need a good clutch that will handle a good 200-250 bhp. What do you guys use or suggest?

Cheers
Twinny

I have the ap organic clutch on my zvh and its fine, can get the pedal from dealer still, i had a plastic quadrant snap on me, found it hard to get an alloy one so got my old man to make one up out of steel for me, does the job!

100% for the -35 (which you need for over about 230bhp/ftlb), some have got away without when running the -8 but I had to do it.
Pedal and quadrant from Ford mate (or motor factors for quadrant if you want to save a few pound), recommend a new cable too.

This is reassuring. Went for the -8 for mine and wont be over 220, probably ever.

i've been running the paddle clutch since 2008 summer without the mod, sold it on as i didn't see the point and the standard pedal been coping with up to 220 ft of torque so far. Jano is a good example on the 4 paddle clutch, running 260 to 270bhp, don't know on the torque. But the ap is rated for 300nm ,which is around 220 ft pounds of torque but they can take much more!

Just to point out the AP paddle clutches don't need a pedal mod as they have a weaker pressure plate, if anyone is considering one.

I had -8 in mine for 3yrs and it had hardly worn as said best clutch IMO and 200-220 you've got a quick car easy to hold on too IMO

Yeah no need for more really. It's quick as it is at about 11psi with the bits it's got.

Setup soon along with some tasty handling upgrades should be where I want it. Then I can get on with cab project.

What?! There's always need for more!!
Until you've felt 32psi of air being swallowed by your little 1.6 CVH you've not lived! lol

That's a given. But I've driven and will drive plenty of fast cars. And as a road car, given how I like to use it, I don't think there will be a benefit to having another 100bhp. I have my cab project to build, the RS is for fun time.

When my cab is done it may well be time for efi and more power, but there's nothing wrong with a solid 200bhp RS turbo.

It's already quicker than a 182 Clio at current boost. There comes a point when you're flat out on twisty country roads you're glad you don't have more power.
