Default Ideas for new wheels on my rs????

Hi guys,

Thinking of changing the wheels on my H reg Radiant Red Escort, it currently has standard wheels that are powder coated black but fancy changing to something a bit different in a 16" or 17" wheel, Pictures would be great
Cheers

IME 17's don't drive well (very heavy steering, tramlining, rubbing, etc.) and make the car very high (even when lowered 35mm), best thing I ever did was drop down to 16's the whole car felt so much better to drive and the ride height was spot on.

I'm running black 17" 5spoke khans on spax adjustables so not sure on the drop but they look mint. as said above tho you feel everything and they catch a little if your cornering hard or have any1 in the back. So maybe better with 16s but the 17s just seem to fill the arch better.

It is personal taste but for me they sit too high, if you look at paul XR2's pic above you can see right through underneath the car and thats with 3" of the wheels covered up by the curb making it look lower! lol

Yea I sapose the 17s do sit a tad hi, my cab also has 17s in silver but I don't like them at all and I think I'm just going to slam it on black stand S2 rims if I can get a decent set or ill just have the 1s I took of my S2 refurbed but the tyres are dead too tbh

you can get 17s to run nice, just have to spend a little on sorted suspension components, i personally love 16s ,my 8j's oz mags run lovely. its really wierd coz some look nice on s2 rims and some look crap lol

Im going to get the cossie wheels refurbed then sell them on i think, dont know what else would suit the orion though i do like the look of them super t's tho

I'm rocking standards in silver at the moment cause i didnt like the 17" Pro Race 3's in black.

Got some soft spokes awaiting new tyres too, but after some 16's for happy-medium.

im with karlos g

17" drives horrid on a rs turbo, they drive best on the 15" but the 16" is the best compromise for looks and handling

i would go for some 16x7.5 calibre vintage with the black centres and be totally different to everyone and have a one off look, but be carefull on the offset as said above the escort cosworth rim looks the nuts in a et25 but upsets the drive of the car...

so dont go quite as wild on the offset...
