Default No spark 87 rst

id like to start by saying hi, so here goes ive recently purchased my first series 2 and fell in love immediately picked her up from new malden surry after doing a straight swap for my 04 plate 1.6 bora drove it back with a few issues shall we say some i knew about some not but arrive back some 201 miles and a few hours later only for it to pack up completely car was running turned it off not 5 mins later came to start it, to pull it onto a friends drive and now it wont start, no spark, checked all earths changed ignition coil for a new one to find out wires have been on the wrong way round after reading that the green wires that from what i can tell run from ecu, and back of the rev counter round the front of the engine bay to the coil are actually the negative and not the positive is this correct ? but before this id jumped a positive from the battery to the positive from the coil to check if it would start but putting the negative of the two coil wires back on resulting in now no dash lights but even with the wiring all correct earths checked and brand new coil still no spark from the coil itself can anyone point me to a wiring diagram or shed some light on this, posts ive read all fixed with either bad earths or bad coil possible ecu ?
