followed by a decent setup will surprise you

if keeping mfi best fit some new injectors or get them tested as mfi injectors arent interchangeable
mfi is getting binned or go up for sale along with my mfi stage 2 head and my mfi chiped ecu

i have about 200hp and it is quicker than you would expect. mine is on mfi, has a stage 3 t3,fmic, sitech chip, and k/n filter. the boost is set at 16psi. i dont even have the fifth injector, just a careful setup and some simple mods to the fuel system. i think with a touch more boost and a 5th injector i would see 220-230hp.

efi is basicy a different approach to the same result. if your gonna do it, do it with proper managent ie omex,ms or cosworth. id get your car setup on mfi with the bigger turbo and enjoy it while your other engine is been built. 200hp is enough to keep you going for a bit. the std crank is virtually bulletproof so you can save yourself a few quid there, esp one that hasnt been unground.

You do not need a new crank! Stock crank is good for over over 400 bhp.
Just pistons, rods, good headwork by someone like NMS and Newman cam kit and your engine will be ready for over 300bhp with the right turbo.
You say you have a stage 3 T3 so that limits you to about 280bhp.
Choose whatever management your tuner can map well.

MFI is of no use at your target bhp and can be (and mostly is) unreliable these days.

Put down the crack pipe for a start.......

Those pistons are a waste of time to start with. They will last about 2 months before they turn oval. Very poor design. Mahle forged ones are the best but twice the price.

1500 for Webber management id about crack on, if anything i say very reasoanble if this is drive in drive out. Id choose a system that you can get mapped easily by a local company to save messing about

£300 on steels rods ? Id honestly save your cash they will be worthless and possibly be the weak link in your engine. I have seen a cheap rod that let go at only 400 bhp, snapped it clean in half.

A genuine 200 bhp Escort RS turbo even on the mfi is a pretty quick car. Unless its causing you massive problems or you are at the point of no return power wise id leave it as it is and have some fun

as ford the pistons and rods im only looking at around 250 bhp so they should be save surly ? i dont want mfi due to reliblierty efi im told buy alot of people is far more reliable may be you no more than them i dont no ?
but ive brought it now so i may aswell use it as forofab ive it would be safe at 250hp then id use it my car is off the road so i thought id just stenthen the engine up a bit with the bottem internals my plan when i brought the escort was to build a engine anyway ..............PEACE OUT MAN

Sorry its been a very tediuos day!!!

Those pistons are not designed to do a massive amount of miles thats all. Regardless off power levels the pistons dont last long at all. Its a race piston designed for very short life spans.

Has the MFI caused you problems then ?

I doubt very much you will get the OFAB to make anywhere near 250, id say you will be lucky if it even makes 200. Id cap the power at around 200 and stick with the tried and tested methods of getting there. The standrad engine is fine around that level. It all depends what you want from the car.
