I bought a 90 spec series 2 the other day. Head gasket went so i pulled the head off, while it was off i checked the turbo and there was loads of play in the shaft. I was told it was a standard T3.

Someone has given me another turbo to try but he thinks its a T2 from a series 2...

Was just going to use it for now untill i get the original one rebuilt...

Also it is normal for there to be side to side movement on the turbine shaft. Its the end float that causes problems

I wouldn't bother fitting it mate, t2s are basically downgrading. U tend to use the t3s on fiestas as a upgrade.. For how much it costs, your proberly best to get the one on it recon'd.

It wont be a T2... S2s used the same turbos as S1s albeit with water cooling.
If it looks the same and is on the same manifold its a t3 and it'll fit

The T2 is tiny and looks obviously different to the T3, you'll know if you have one! lol
