Default Camshaft ???????

Hi all iv just changed the cam in my s2 for a Newman one with solid lifters (as advised to me by Ian ball at power eng) and I did not no that they had to be run in at 3000 rpm for 20 mins so after fitting it and changing the cambelt and water pump I left it idling until the fan cut in so my question is have I damaged my cam by doing this if so do I need a new one or will I have just shortened its life?
Thanks to all who reply
Shane

Newman cams dont require that (kent/piper do). Newman just recommend you take it easy for the first 20miles or so, but otherwise itll be fine
