Take it you have deleted the amal valve? Possible wrong adjustment on actuator? Is it mfi or efi?

The turbo set up is just as it was on my cvh. Its on mfi mate. Could the actuator or wastegate be stuck?

Try adjusting the actuator, and while the arms off check the wastegate moves freely as it would have to be stuck closed to overboost

Out mate, start off ith the actuator wound in so it needs pulling onto the wastegate arm (approx half a hole) and then start by winding it out turn by turn and see if lowers the boost, make sure the actuator is not seized either as this won't allow the wastegate to open

Would have thought with a split or loose hose he would have lost boost and have running probs

The boost pressure opens the waste gate to control boost. Take the hose off and see what happens - max boost the turbo can put out.
Cheers.

this is true but only if were talking about the pipe between the turbo and actuator but I would still expect running problems at idle
