Hi everyone, I've noticed in my s2 that I get alot of steering judder on braking but as I go down the gears it's reduced but also you can seem to almost quarter turn in a straight line before the wheels respond??also the rack has alot of play in it if you push the s/wheel up down side to side it knocks so I got a new top tolerance washer and on full tightening of the s/wheel it doesn't reach the washer to lock into the bearings??? Any ideas!!

 

brake shudder is probably down to brakes -check your disks

 

Hi there, i thought the same but they have only done about 1200 miles they have been on about a year and a half though?

 

racks are £20 new and transform the steering on rs turbo's its worth putting one on anyway, you can still get steering column repair kits from ford as well, they are also on ebay but tend to be dearer than ford!

 

Would that be the reason for the adverse play that the rack has just had it? Where can I get a rack from for £20? Cheers for the advice👍👍
