Default Air flow...

I have a series 2 rst. Ive nearly finished my zetec turbo conversion. Should be around 375-400bhp when its finished. I have a front mount intercooler and the standard bunper will still fit on. The one thats currently on there has the centre section cut out. (for better air flow to the intercooler)

Personally, i hate the look of it, would much rather have a standard 90 spec bumper.

Does anyone know of any cases where the intercooler hasnt been able to get enough air due to the standard bunper being fitted?

It also has a 'badboy' bonnet that i would also like to replace with the standard item!

Thanks in advance!

Tom.

Standard 90spec should be fine mate, im not running anything like your 400bhp but ive got a 90spec front bumper with the small bottom bar cut out so it looks pretty standard but nice air flow to

That does look tidy with minimal cutting but on the other hand with a cooler that big surely its much more worthwhile getting as much airflow to the face of the cooler as possible?

More than 50% surface area of that cooler pictured is blocked, if people want standard ish looks then just get a smaller sized cooler, will give you more room behind the bumper too then.

Just my opinion.

Cheers Paul

i hate seeing front bumpers butchered for airflow, they look wrong imo.

I know its an air to air cooler, but, even if it covered by the bumper, its still serving as a reduction in heat?

Thanks, it's has perfect act's at 25psi and coolant temps are bang on even in very hot weather. Twins front bumper is a modded 90spec that uses a rs500 front splitter and it looks the nuts

I got my front mount behind 88spec bumper and the air flow fine once you moving at a decent speed. Of course it will have restriction compared to open face but thats the risk if wanting standard looks.
