usually id take the lot from top of my mk4 and just unbolt box on engine hoist.
but its a mk3 and was wodering if i can just undo mounts, linkage n shafts and drop box off underneath?
what do other people do?

Yeah drop in out from underneath if your on mk3 stuff

ive been looking at this and the gap for gearbox to slide off looks too small?? is this not the case, does it slide off easy?

i do mk 3 and mk4 from underneath there is plenty of room and they are very easy to do can be a bit more awkward on a mk4 with abs still fitted

underneath is a doddle to get it out, cam be a bit tricky due to the weight to get the bugger back in though, just get someone to take the weight from above and give it a shove and wiggle from underneath
