Default im stuck

my current gearbox is playing up, so had a mooch at the spare gearboxs i have.

1st is 87tt 7f096 bb has a bar between driveshafts and driveshafts spin opposite ways also it has the 4 boltholes for my mk3 front mount.

2nd is d96wt 7f096 ea no bar across between drive shafts, drive shafts spin same way and has not got 4 bolt holes for my front mount

i have a mk3 xr3 4 speed box and for some reason it dont have the 4 holes for a mk3 mount???

and my current box mounts in, drive shafts spin same way, not sure about bar across but its getting stuck in end gears and goes floppy, wont go in 1st, 2nd or 3rd until i switch car off and back on its ok for a bit???

wtf going on and anybody got some ideas? can i mount the 2nd box in some how? its just that front bloody mount :-(

cheers in advance

I think you might be able to swap the internals on the boxes over. So swap the LSD internals into the mk3 casing. I would personally get an expert to do this

Er probably not. Another point though..... It might not be your box. It could be clutch and a shite gear selector.... Gotta be cheaper than swapping bits inside gearboxes..... But do you really want to pull the gearbox out swap the clutch and then realise it is the box..... Suppose it's all down to how handy you are with the scanners I suppose.

i was thinking selector, as since i put the engine in using the box already in car 600 miles ago its never felt right. its alwayvs slipped out of the bottom gears 2nd 4th n reverse. it was perfect setup in my mk4.
its just since i put it in mk3. even got the same clutch. is it worth putting the selector off my mk4 on first??
