Hi guys Im new here, wanna ask a question purely out of intrest...
I don't actually own one of these beasts... My dad used to however.

He had a black S2 facelifted RST, oh how I loved that car so.....

It had a bodykit that we thought was factory fit, however when i google I cant seem to find another Mk2 facelift with it on...

It had the lower skirts and everything off the S1, but the smoothness up top of a S2...

Was this a custom fabrication kit or was it just a very rare bodykit/factory fit option?

I wish I had that car... He promised me i could have it when I got my licence and then sold it for a Cossie rep


Any help would be much appreciated!


Also if anyone knows if the car is still on the road...
Its reg was F600APE, I've webuyanycar'd it and it cant find it Im hoping someone changed the plates... I'd be devistated to hear it was scrapped or written off...


PS sorry I only just did some reading and you call it S1 and S2 rather than Mk1/2, so I edited appropriately

I know that WAS its reg as i still have some of its plates in my loft...

Im guessing that is a sad sign unless would it still pop up there if it was now wearing private plates?


But my main wonder is the body kit... Was it some sort of rare SE or was it someone spent a lot of money fusing an S1 and S2 kit...?

Has anyone ever seen an S2 with the low skirts/splitter of an S1?

I havent seen my dad in 13 years, and he sold it atleast a year before I last saw him so I havent seen the car in a minimum 14 years...

I'll see if I can find me mom can find one of me old photo albums or something!

I remember one of the pics perfectly... Dads black RST sat next to moms white XR3i, opposites....

I fricken loved those cars......

Thats very similar! The skirts and rear bumper looked the same but the front bumper... I cant remember if it had those venty things... But it was black and many years ago so it could well have!

Does that optional kit have a name? Id love to find an RST with that kit one day, it looks 100x nicer than the std bumpers...

Although his bonnet was std and he had the spot lights in the middle... And std alloys

thought it might lol, its the same kit as the white one but he had it modified to fit the later bumper (90spec)
most kits fit on the early bumper (80spec) they turn up on ebay now and then

I'd love to get my hands on one of these one day, one that looked like my dads, but untill I can afford it... I'll stick to my MG I guess lol
