only running on 2 cylinders
my ERST is only running on 2 cylinders. I know all 4 plugs are sparking but it looks like pot 3 and 4 are not getting the fuel. I have changed the injectors and lines for both 3 and 4 but still no joy. Any suggestions

Are the fuel lines in the correct order on the metering head?

I stripped the head and sent it off for a rebuild with new valves port and polish stem sills hydrolic lifters cam and injectors. I have also replaced the battery spark plugs HT leads
Rotary arm and distributor cap. Before all of that it was running sweet.

I'm pretty sure the injector order does matter on a mfi as its the fuel distributor that pressurises each injector in the order they need to be fired in as there is no electric signal to tell each one when to activate, try swapping around the 2 that don't work, also these are a bastard to prime so check you actually have fuel coming out of the injectors as they will still pressurise if in the wrong order hope this helps

They don't have any order really. They are a continuous injection system so all 4 are always injecting.
I didn't think a car could even run on 2 cylinders! Swap injectors round after labelling them and se e if the problem moves and try disconnecting the coil and turning car over with airflow flap held down to see if anything is coming out of injectors on problem cylinders.

If it did then the fuel metering head would need some sort of rotating device to distribute the fuel which would need controlling in time with the engine. Much like old fashioned diesel systems.
Ive had the distribution head off the metering unit recently and can't tell you there is no way it can tell where the engine position is, or even manage How much fuel goes to each injector individually. It's literally a continuous system whereby the injectors are all spraying while the engine is running, relative to the position of the air metering flap. The more the flap is drawn down the more fuel is allowed to flow through to the injectors.
I'd love to actually take the distribution unit apart to see exactly how it works. Anyone got an old one spare?
