Its easy enough mate, just take your time!

When you remove parts either label them or have seperate tubs/boxes to put nuts and stuff in to help you remember where parts go.
Use a new Ford head gasket and new head bolts as the final torque setting stretches them.Im nit sure on the torque settings but i'll have a look about to try and find them again

Oh ment to say, your head could and possibly will be(if it overheat)warped

So you may need to get it skimmed flat by an engineering firm, its not all that expensive its more the hassle of getting it done thats a pain but id suggest you do

This may sound stupid but will I have to strip the head down as well. I've never tried any of this before but willing to try.

No.The head wont need stripped mate(Unless you get it skimed)but if your lucky and dont need to then simply undo/take off:

Charge carrier
Rocker cover
Manifold
All sensors ect(Think there is 5)
Slacken jockey pulley and slide belt off
Undo head bolts and lift off!

Obviously there is more to it than that but its quite easy really.Id say a 3 spanner job on the haynes manual
