Default ofam and 21psi??

going to be putting my new ofam ecu in car when i get lambda n AFR. i read somewhere the standard fiesta rst engine will do 21psi at stock??
if this is true i want to run this in my fiesta rst engine with steel rods and forged pistons at 21psi.
i want to try and achieve around 250 bhp and around 230 lb ft.
i had mine rr'd at 14psi 205.7bhp and 186.9 lb ft which is pretty good i suppose but i want that little bit extra.
what is needed to achieve this? i dont want to go 1.8 or 2.1 bottom end just 1.6 will do. and help will be great thanks

Whats your spec?
You can run as much boost as you like as long as your injectors can fuel for it... Standard CVH rods give up around 230bhp i think. So if you are using steels you'll be ok for 250 and alot more!

Yeah as Roger says forged rods and pistons are good for 350bhp+ so you can run whatever you like providing you have enough fuel.
For 250bhp and similar torque all thats needed is a stage 3 T3 (.48/55) and a FMIC.

Hi dude, technically the ecu is up to the job.. If you want to run more boost a 4bar map sensor will be required.

I personally would recommend steel rods and forged pistons... or at the VERY least some ARP con rod bolts... with standard rods you really need to keep the rev limit around 6k IMO.... I use standard pistons and steel rods.

For my next build im going to use steel rods... Altho i'll be happy to make a genuine 220bhp with a rev limit of 6/6500rpm. For now i'm loving the car on 1bar of boost, circa 170-180bhp i hope!

Boost is a very general term tbh mate... at the end of the day turbo spec will dictate how much boost you run....

But I have run over 20psi on a stage 2 T3 for some time, and it hasn't poo'd its turbine down the exhaust yet

It'll be worth it just need to get you some nice juicy injectors and you'll piss 220bhp with your turbo Roger.

Yet another 200+ bhp on Beiges Alot of people have seen this power, but the calculations say its not possible...
Rob - my next move is 440cc (astra vxr) injectors, once the clutch is sorted!

The lad i bought engine off said he was running 21psi at had it running 232 bhp on beiges. How are vxr injectors, wat could u get 250bhp out of them and do the fit direct replacememt or do i need fuel rail?

upgrade your injectors first.

232 bhp on beiges

Sadly 230bhp on beiges won't happen. Personally I would highly recommend siemens deka, vxr injectors are okay to around 240bhp on a cvh due to the poor BSFC.

As for the 4bar map sensor, they are supplied as an optional extra with the OFAM, you can get it as an upgrade too.

Your engine spec seems good, and capable of good power. Who is tuning this for you? I would have a chat with them when they start mapping, they can gradually (and safely) increase the boost whilst making sure there is no det.

What kind of boost control do you have?

Ultimately, with your engine turbo spec and injector size will dictate power to a certain extent.

Over 200 is very easily achievable with the correct turbo and injectors. A proper stage 3 turbo and siemens dekas should be good for high 200's like 280 comfortably.
