Default Engine question

Hi lads, I'm looking at picking up a old series 1rs,it's got a 1.9 cvh engine and a rolling road print out of 173 bhp. It looks like turbo was boosting at 1bar. Would the boost be around this normaly? Or can it be wound up more Ta lads

173bhp @ 1 bar is ok. Depends on the condition of the 1900 if the boost can be turned up. Best getting a tuner to do it though or it will end in tears

Im not a 100% but If it is a bored out block with merc pistons (???) I'm pretty sure they like to melt with biggish boost.

But there others ways to go 1900 using an American tall block depends which one the car has.

I'm sure someone with much more knowledge than me will be along to help more!

Without knowing what pistons and rods are in it I dont think anyone can tell you what power it will take, you really need to know this before anything can be done or you may destroy your engine.
But as above, don't turn anything up yourself!

I don't think it's the cvh people are sceptical of more the company that have built this particular engine in question tbh

This engine was put together back in 2005, so I wonder if the company was doing it wrong then or happened more recently? Looking at there info it dos look like at one time it seemed to know what they were doing. Who knows eh
