Default Rst on omex hot starting issues

Got the s2 up and running finally.
RunnIng omex 600 management.
Car won't restart when it hot.
Took it for the mot , turned it off , then it wouldn't restart for about 15 mins.
Finally got it started again , left it running for the mot , them the mot tester stalled it lol.
But it started straight away so seems to be a bit intermittent.
Guy I bought the engine and management from said it does this all the time but eventually it will start.
Idle fluctuates alot too.
One minute it's smooth then up down up down.

So what's your thought on hot starting issues ?
Coolant temp sensor ? Act sensor ? Coil pack ??

And the fluctuating idle ?
It still uses the air aux valve.
Perhaps it's faulty ??
Would the tps need adjusting ?
It's a pf09 cossie one

Appreciate any helP here guys

is the pf09 calibrated?

If its anything like megasquirt there are a number of settings that can affect hot starting.

I'm not sure. I bought the engine and management from a friend who was breaking his Rs and transferred it all into mine.
He had the same hot starting issues too.
Do they not calibrate themselves on start up ??

might be worth havin a look through the software, I've not touched omex, but on m/s there are options for calibrating sensors.

Or take it to a tuner?

If I can't sort it I'll take it to a tuner. Always have a go myself first though

Get a laptop plugged in, this will tell you all you need to know about sensors being duff or not.

Do you have a wide band lambda and gauge? if you don't GET ONE, it sounds as if the start up enrichment is off, either too lean or too rich with a hot engine. The idle issue to have can be caused by a number of things, I suspect the closed loop idle settings are off. Too much gain will result in a car that hunts for idle, it constantly overshoots its target.

PS, if you don't have any joy, i would genuinely take it to a tuner, a power run should check the fueling etc, make sure the dyno operator wears det cans too.

Sounds like I will have too.
Might just change the ect and act sensors first as there pretty cheap. If that makes no difference I'll get it looked at.

Cheers for the advice so far guys

Just to clear up, is it turning over and not starting up, or just not even cranking?

studabear
so i cant just swap the existing sensors for new ones??
ive ordered ect and act sensors

to clarify
the car is turning over fine,no prob with the starter ,it just wont fire.
i even took a ht lead off,put a spark plug in it,turned it over and theres no spark.
you can hear its just not trying to fire.
turns over fine though

then suddenly it will decide to start on the button

sometimes it will start everytime when hot, othertimes it wont start for ages and you can tell theres no spark cos it doesnt even attempt to fire.

gonna be one of the ballache problems i bet
