What temperature is it running at?

As said for the pipes to be swelling up and with the presence of "mayonaise" I suspect the head gasket, does it loose any coolant?

No does not lose any water at all and the temp never gets to red fans kick in way before and takes about 45 of town driving to get that hot

Then it's not the HG!

Sounds like the thermostat, this would also explain no heating, which was my other thought initially!

It does not explain the "swelling" issue, however!

Sounds like a blockage somewhere to me...
If the pipes are swelling up and theres no hot water going to the heater matrix...
Check the pipes that go through the bulkhead into the car, do they have hoses attached?

How often do you drive the car, if used on short journeys they can get abit of cream under the oil cap, if its literally only a smidge then i wouldnt worry!

Just had rocker cover off and not much under it the pipe when you look on the right coming out of rocker is gunged up but dip stick is still fine and car still runs fine too

Blocked pipes or rad or heater matrix I would say. Flush it through with a hose pipe. It won't cure it 100% but will give you a chance

i had that problem with mine mate, actually blew the hose of at radiator, pipes were solid, took head of cleaned block n head faces, replaced them with same multilayered gasket. torqued up, problem solved, just bite the bullet, will take you all off an hour n 30quid for new gasket, p.s used an oil stone to clean of block some wd40

hi, had same prob with one of my rs turbo's, changed head gasket & thermostat, turned out to be a blocked heater matrix. hoses bubbling up & bursting,
solved prob by removing hoses going to matrix & blowing air pressure jet through matrix.
be careful to hold open end of hose away from your face, or you will get a face full of gunk or in your eye. then flush through with a hose. hope this helps.
pat.
