Default series 2 running/performance question?

I recently brought a g reg series 2 turbo. When i brought it, it was running a 2.1 zvh but it was nackerd so i didnt drive it hard at all but i did notice it was quite slow, i didnt take any notice as i knew the engine was been swaped. So i replaced the engine with a bog std 1.6 cvh turbo item, ive never had a 1.6 cvh turbo b4 ive always had zvh engines so i didnt realy know what 2 expect. It is what i would call very slow, a friend of mine big in to hes turbos also says the same. Any way 2 cut a long story short, what im finding is no mater how much boost i run through it it doesnt make the car any faster (i know u carnt simply wack the boost up and job done) but some diffrence should be felt. does any 1 know what could b going on?

spec:
std 1.6 cvh turbo engine
pro aloy front mount
stage 3 t3
mongoose (3 inch bore) exhaust
chipped ecu

I know its not going 2 be "evil/rappid" but it should be faster than my missis 03 focus diesel.

Any help or in put would be a great help thanks. Rob.

Take it to a tuner and get it set up.

mine was running 15 boost, no compression well 100-130 it made 125 bhp all the compression is going down past the pistons, when i pull the dipstick out, it cuts out, it did not burn oil or smoke, putting another engine together now new rings ect, should be a bit better

My mate had a similar problem. Turns out his metering head was fooked. Having said this best advice would be a rolling road set up as this will give you some real numbers and the tuner will be able to check the fuelling and for detonation. Having said all of the above... Try turning the fuel up if you want a cheap fix or expensive break... Depending on your luck!!!
