Sorry mate, is this the fuel sender? or a temp sensor etc? in either case you should be fine, although i have a feeling ford changed the connector on the fuel sender unit at some point (but can't confirm this).

ideally you will need to check the hole in the fuel tank where it fits in. there are two different sizes and the difference is quite big

Yea I understand that but that means buying 2 or pulling it apart to see what one and then getting one

Hmmmm I didn't know the hole was a different size, What year is yours? Mines 88spec and was roughly 5 inches diameter (from memory) when I had it apart.

There are definitely 2 sizes.... pre 89 has the larger sender and post 89 has a smaller one.

yup, phil is bang on the money, the 90spec fuel sender is tiny compared to the pre 89 sender! i stupidly bought a replacement sender for my 88 tank, and bought an 90spec sender, and it is less than half the size, just falls straight thru

also im sure i got told back at the time that u needed the correct spec clocks to match the sender? cant find the old thread, but im sure thats what i was told by numerous people

just what i was told, is it the later clocks have the fuel n water temp gauges swapped round?

it may be wrong, but it came up when i asked a similar question on here, like 5 years ago, so i figured just buy the clocks i was told just to be safe lol

Andy is correct! Pre 89 clocks have the fuel gauge on the right and will only work with the larger sender and post 89 clocks have the fuel gauge on the left and will only work with the smaller sender
