Default engine warning light is on....

Alright lads, I've recently changed my brakes to ST170 jobies, and at the same time removed the shitty ABS. After removing the ABS the orage brake light was on so i've removed the bulb like you do but the red engine warning light has also come on. When my mate John Laverick did the same job that light never came on, has anyone got any ideas as to what it might be? I've checked the brake fluid level and thats all ok, and i dout its to do with the handbrake cos it happened at the asme time i messed with my brakes.
Any help will be much appreicated

Thought the red (handbrake) light was tied in with the yellow abs one anyway.

When you removed the abs you should have unplugged the the abs sensors - most probably at the yellow connector. You need to bridge the two pins within the end of the yellow connector on the end of the loom as keeping contact between these keeps the abs light out.

If you mean the oil presure light - then it is possible you have pulled the connector from the sensor on the back of the engine when removing the abs.

Properly setup ABS works very well.
