Drive shaft oil seals
Hi, leaking some gearbox oil from where the drive shaft enters the gearbox. Want to replace the seals but a little confused which seal kit to buy. could anyone suggest where I can buy the ones I need. many thanks
Here mate http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESCORT-RS-...item19bd35af61 you only need the two bigger ones (Diff/Driveshaft seals) but for the price who cares?!
lol
sorry to latch on but its kind of relevant for the sake of a new thread, its a small faq. after replacing the front shocks, i managed to dislodge the passenger side drive shaft were about a cup full of oil leaked before i spotted it! was clear oil so thats a bonus. anyway, i placed it back in, assembled and after some welly it stayed put. trouble is, theres a slow drip, is this likely to be a fucked seal or just remnents of oil that leaked previous. alsowere can i get some seals(dont say sea world)!, the link appears to not exist anymore, cheers as ever

Check for any up and down movement of the shafts with the wheels on the ground, its not un heard of for the diff bearing to have worn allowing the shaft to drop slightly and wear the seal away...
