Default Fueling Problems

Can i get some advice here please guys ? My SERIES2 seems to have some fueling problems when the tank is FULL or anything over half a tank it runs like a dream BUT when the gauge goes anywhere near quarter of a tank [infact well above quarter of a tank] the problems start ie coughs & splutters loses power cuts out etc could the gauge be faulty or a lack of fuel to the tank ? Any advice greatly appreciated thanks

Gauge could well be faulty, they fail all the time, does sound like you are running out of fuel.

hey guys basicly my rs cut out on me yday wouldnt start, but did after about 5 mins. i thought it mite be a fuel problem seems the gauge is not working properly but also it cut the boost out as it hits max boost, iv tried turning it down with the manual boost controled under the bonnet by the air fiilter yet nothing! i have been told it could be my fuel pump ???

What are the symptoms of a faulty fuel pump? Im guessing that this could be MY problem as iv noticed that it makes whining noises now & then also when i exit a roundabout that is when my car starts to cut out/cough/splutter The gauge reads WELL OVER a quarter of a tank but im thinking its my fuel pump
