Absolutely yes they can, but bear in mind that in doing so you are going to be passing already cooled air from the first into the second, so the second will be less efficient as a result, and yet will still be a hinderance to flow.

Ie it will function like a very long intercooler would in the first place, and there are reasons intercoolers tend not to be wider than about 2 foot generally.

I would personally just buy a good second hand GRS or Radtec one. Then again the Airtec ones are fantastic for the money and come with a superb kit

i would imagin that the pace cooler is more than up to the task unless your a really high spec and are getting high intake charge temp's.

no need for another cooler if the current one is working fine.

but yes its possible.

Not sure if it would make sense plumbing-wise, but you could run the two IC's in parallel with 'Y' ducts instead of one after the other. This should reduce the pressure drop.

Yes that is one way to do it and will mean that both still have a chance to be efficient as both will see hot air.

The downside is the way that the y pipes will hinder flow of course.

will also so increase lag. as said above if your worried about high intake temps fit an intercooler spray kit or water injection.

This should be less than running two ICs serially: parallel will likely increase flow. The only real question is if it's doable with reasonable plumbing, i.e. not needing to go round the engine bay twice or something.

Agreed, but then it would be as the air is only going through one cooler not both, so that means you get some hinderence to flow with the extra pipework, but unlike the hinderance to flow of a serial setup it doesnt result in the air being cooled twice.

It depends really if the problem he has with 1 intercooler is wether it doesnt flow enough or doesnt cool enough as to which method of adding a second would be better.

But personally I would just fuck them both off and get one decent one instead!

A lot of new cars use twin intercoolers merely because of space constraints. My Abarth 500 has twin coolers.

also i'd have thought if you plumb them in one after the other it'd be much like using a twin pass cooler rather than two seperate ones?

Cheers chaps, my spec is mfi 203bhp with pace intercooler see thread a few down from this for full soec, someone did mention about the pace not really up to the job and my temps will be high, how can i measure them , this intercooler will cost me nothing so its just a fettle n see

Where does the standard intercooler fit? This one looks almost kike it so imagine the standard rs plummed into pace...... Botchit scrper nothing to loose

Do you mean PACE front mount or the PACE double capacity as the 2 are very very different. I'm running 25psi through my PACE front mount with 260bhp and am not at the units limits yet. The double capacity PACE unit struggles with anything much over 12-14psi

as above mate, if it's just the doulbe capacity one then i'd say get it changed or try and fit this other one in the system with it. can't hurt to try new stuff on a budget.
