boost ecu

there is a switch in the dash that goes to the boost ecu to increase the boost of my escort i am wanting to take it out but am unsure how to go about it, i havnt opened up the ecu yet to look but im sure someone will know how its done, is it just a case of removing the wire?

i may be wrong, but i was under the impresion that rs turbo escorts have a boost ecu aswell as a fuel one ie Kjet? do you know different as im always willing to learn???

no it doesnt go to the amal valve, i thought thats were it would go as it does on my other rs turbo so i was suprised when i removed the loom to find it going to my hearts and diomands ecu.
The actual name is the fuel ECU this deals with the on load fuelling etc, without this you would have the same management as an XR3I!
The only one I know is as said a "Two stage boost control" this is simply a switch wired into the earth of the amal valve which goes to the ECU, when the switch is closed you run maximum boost but with it open you run lower boost.

Yes, the amal valve earth is pulsed by the ECU, I personally done mine on the loom itself end as you can't see it and it looks far better than tacky wire splicing showing under the bonnet!

cool i guess thats what they did then, so in theory i can just remove the wire and have 1 boost setting.... thank you for replying..
