Default IDLE PROBLEM?

When started fom cold it idles fine for a few seconds and then the revs drop down to 400rpm i then adjust the idle screw but once its warmed up then the idle speed is to high it revs at 1000 or slightly over. Is there something in the engine bay that stabilises the revs when cold what is causing this anyone know CHEERS PISSING ME OFF
Do RS turbos have some sort of idle speed compensator?
