Default cts stg2+ limit?

Hi all,

I'm aware most will say ditch it for a mtx box, being seeing as I already have one bolted to the car I wanted to know the safest limit (if there is such a thing) on one of these boxes.

What has been the lowest/highest bhp/psi amount that a box has failed on?

I'm not chasing big numbers on my car, under 300brake is fine and more than enough for me.

cheers peeps

my honest theory is, if the bc/ib5 could be miraculously made really bullet proof strong, then why did ford design another gearbag for the mandildo and higher powered escorts and foci? The answer is because they could not do anything with the bc/ib5.

How much warranty did you get with it?

What he said.

Sell it and use the money to help fund an MTX conversion. No point crossing your fingers and blowing it to bits, losing any worth it might have had and then having to fork out to convert to a better box.

the VW boys have the exact same problems with the o2a "crumble box", they are weak and also have a small clutch, the only solution considered with them is to upgrade to an o2J or o2m box, they have all the problems associated with an mtx conversion, making mounts, changing the gearshift, flywheel, driveshafts have to be changed, but once done its fit and forget basically. It seems more and more people are getting this idea in the ford scene now, maybe due to engines making more and more power.

i did my first mtx conversion for Ł50 (the price of the gearbox) well worth it. I made the engine mounts and modified the inner wing myself, modified mk5 escort shafts at work to take mk outer cv joints, and made a custom linkage by welding a mk4 and mk5 escort one together.
