chaps,
when i fit my bigger intercooler,double fans,alloy rad , my alternator fan blade bit is about 10mm from the bottom water hose on my rad.
the cure i think has to be a alternator belt which is a bit shorter than the standard one.
loads of peeps must have the same problem.
is there a belt from another car that fits or do you shorten hoses or what?

Id just go into a motor factors and get them to pull up on the screen how long an rs turbo one is and then get them to have a look for one thats abit shorter then give it a try

It shouldnt be that close unless your rad is sitting to far back?
Mine was the same until i realised it could go another inch further forward.... cue the cable ties lol

messure it with a peace of string and take it to a motor factors ive done it loads of times

Go to the motor factors and ask for a 762.

It's the size of the belt. If I recall correctly the original size is something like 810.

i bought a rad of ebay and the bottom hose to the water pump came out at the wrong angle touching the alternator! i rang the ebay shop i got it from and they agreed to refund half the cost if i could use it so i popped to motormania and borrowed all belts that were shorter than the s2 belt. 762 will give you room. be better off moveing ic and rad forward imo.
