FTAO Karlos.
Hello mate!
Just noticed in your sig pic you have a XR3i inlet manifold, have been thinking of doing the same and just wanted to know what exactly has to be done to it to make it fit?
Is that a Cossie TB on there? Are they the original branches running to the head? How are the injectors fitted? Etc?
Sorry for all the questions! lol
Cheers,
Karl.
HI Karl,
Bit fo info for you here.
Standard manifold
My manifold
Christian cut the throttle body flange off and welded a new one on at a better angle. It was tapped for a Cossie throttle body. The branches etc are all standard but the runners and injector plate have been port matched.
For the injectors, rather than just drilling out the plate, he had proper steel injector sleeves made and pressed in. I noticed when I made my own and just drilled the plate, the alloy can be very low quality and may cause sealing issues for the injectors.
It uses a FRST fuel rail and has had some lugs welded to the inlet to mount it on. You can also me an M10 (IIRC) fitting has been added for the brake servo vacuum.
As for sensors, I'm using the far right for FPR vacuum, the front left for the Air charge temp sensor, I have then added 2 new take offs on the rear, one for MAP sensor and one for boost gauge.
Sorry about the crap pics they are old ones. I haven't been anywhere near the car in about 6 weeks lol.

not an xr3i inlet but a similar rs1600i inlet for use on an rst, for sale if anyone wants it too.
can be used with mfi or efi as i can sell it with a modified adapter plate to take efi/cossie/bosch injectors, comes with the fuel rail and mounts for it, matching crackle black 16i rocker cover, all the braided fuel line, and the boost pipe, injectors can be sold with it too.
