Default windscreen rust

ok from the inside of my car with the dash out i can see rust marks where water has been running down in the seal from the windscreen corners.

now there is no visible rust in or out the car around the seals but i bet there must be behind the seals.

so iam looking to get this fixed soon.

i was just wondering if anyone had this done before and how much they think a body shop would charge for removing and fitting the screen again plus taking care of any rust! and a new seal.

i will try n buy the seal with out going through them.

just need a rough idea as my body guy cant manage and i want it done soon.

its easy to take the screen out, just work round it with 2 screwdrivers being ultra careful not to break it.as for the rust,it may just be the lip thats gone which will be easy to fix,or it may be the whole corner.did you see my shell when you were down, that was gone in 1 corner.

yeah i did the bottom right! it was pretty fecked. did u keep the shell to rebuild again another day!?

well what puts my body guy off is he is feart o breaking the windscreen as he has broken one before and he hasnt got room in his workshop as he has about 7 other cars in there,i dinna want to harass him as he has done a top job so far plus its only in his spare time as he is retired now.

so hopefully it is just the lip.

if your getting a new seal then cut the old one. get a sharp blade and lay it flat on the glass on the outside and cut through the old seal.

shell got scrapped, couldnt be bothered moving it into my pals damp garage.either work the rubber out,you could do it with your fingers once you get started or cut it.i had a spare seal but gave it away last week

im nae so much fussed about removal tbh that looks relatively easy.

im more concerned about how much a body shop would charge roughly for carrying out the whole job rust n all!

this is a job i want done by professionals!

It shouldn,t cost you any more than £40 to £50 to have the screen removed and re fitted.
