Ditch the crap, standard front ARB and get an RS1600i item on.

Rev limiting type traction control is available from most aftermarket ecu's, what ecu does it run? this may be an option.

Does the Series1 ARB really make that much diff on a Series2?

Is there any other upgrade for the Front/Rear ARBs?

Will make loads of difference to how it drives. RS1600i is also better than a Series one as it has a one piece alloy mount and a thinker ARB.

Thanks lads, some good points.

That other thread is quite interesting, some good points in there aswell.

Where can you buy adjuctable tca's, do burtons do um?

What about focus RS box? Also any ideas on any mods which can be done to make the drive shafts the same length?

Cheers

With regards traction, I have no idea! I get wheel spin in 1st through to 3rd in the dry and in every gear in the wet lol
Running Pirelli PZero's and Spax adjustables standard everything else.

best thing to get power down would be equal length drives, good lsd, adustable tca,s coilovers, separate rs1600 type tie rod and rollbar, plus replace all bushes with rose joints. stiffer engine and gearbox mounts help alot too

As to putting power down, depends where.... drag or road.

1/4 mile wise, stiffening and raising the rear end whilst lowering the front end will help as there will be less dynamic weight transfer to the rear.

The aim is to keep the wheels/tyres normal and square to the tarmac. Hence adjustable bottoms arms etc. Not sure how much the 1600i set up will help with straight line grip, probably loads with handling etc.

Tyres,

Your foot

Equal length shafts should help with torque steer, not so much grip i wouldn't have thought, but the car would certainly be less of a handful.

Coilovers and polybushes made the most differance with grip with my fiesta although a good choice of tyre will help massively

I have a set of nangkangs on some spare wheels leaves blacklines in third where grips third on eagle f1's most of the time!

Never worked that well for me, up until a point it did, found 26-28psi was best for me, gained .2 sec @ santapod, dropped them to 24psi and gained .3 secs lol need to be a happy compromise.

your choice of tyres will make a big difference, some semi slick road legal jobbies will have more grip than a normal road tyre for example.

and as has been said, it depends if your wanting to do corners too or how far you want to go with it. as you wont be able to lift the back end on really hard springs if you want it to handle well to

hey karl you had a play with your ignition map yet to see if you could get that turbo spooling quicker and tried the popping and banging settings, it sounds ace if you happen be on some country lanes and dropping it down into corners sounds like you've got als

if you think my car was running 180bhp then all I can say is that I am very disappointed with jamsports mapping!
And I was not disappointed at all. The figure was 250bhp+ with the clutch slipping @ 26psi
Matt and Jamie did a spot on job so I can't thank them enough.
If you believe the figure was 180bhp then I was obviously told different from that. But 28psi making 180bhp even a shit map would get better results than that.

With the same size drive shafts, if you use a FRS box, is the arrangment so, that the shafts are equal length anyway?? If not how do you achieve equal length shafts?

What diff is in the FRS boxes, or what would you recommend?

What coil overs are best for escort turbo?

Cheers lads

why feel sorry for him? matt told him the spec, and i showed him the graphs of 250bhp so where did you get the 300bhp i bullshitted about to the guy?
as for the youtube vids yes i will remove as the car was not 300bhp but i did not state it was at brunters nor when selling so thanks for that.
as for any anti-lag and engine spec i can only say what the tuner told me was the spec not what i just made up out of thin air.
Any way i had jamsport sort my car and from there i learnt a valuble lesson that if you want the job done right go to a reputable tuner - like jampsort.
