Default EFI Help needed

Hi all

I have just purchased a Mk5 3dr escort with 1.6efi cvh
Can I use loom for my S2. I am going to break the whole car. couldnt find a fiesta rs.
I am in middle of building a 2.1zvh for my S2 but want to efi it. I was hoping that I could get most of what I needed off this but can only find info for using fiesta,s as a donour.

Can anyone help or list what I can remove....

Thanks In advance

you really really need to use a full xr3i efi loom and then do the mods to this.

www.rsbible.co.uk

will give you a lot of help

I can still use efi inlet ect anyhow so no loss.
I only bought the car for other bits that have been fitted to it, thought it would of had a zetec but has cvh so any bits I could use would be a bonus to me.

you will need a manifold adapter unless you fit the efi head

I am going to use the head off it as well if its any good. saves me getting another.

I have 2 other complete rs engine one of which is in my s2 at the moment both are MFI. and 2 spare heads both also MFI so was going to buy an EFI head cost they are cheap enough really.

Inlet manifold, injector rail, and sensors maybe yes (dont know for 100% unless I looked at them), loom and ECU no, running OFAB or OFAC limit's you to off the shelf chips and not making the most out of your build.
Regards the ZVH.. IMO it is a waste of time, your taking the bad bits from a CVH and throwing away the best bits of the Zetec! lol
In addition to that you'll need a very expensive head and a big turbo to make any decent usable power.
My advice would be build either a good CVH, or better still a Zetec turbo and run some form of standalone mangement, this will see by far the best results for both power and reliability.

Cheers Karlos

So really your saying it can be used but not worth it because of the manegment for instance ofab or ofac. I agree but I cant justify spending the cash on diff manegment at the mo mayby in the future though who knows.
Like i said anything off engine would be bonus. will put some pics of it on my resto thread when I get down me workshop at weekend

IMO If you cant afford management then stick with an EFI CVH and just get a Stage 3 T3 (.48/55), a good FMIC, off the shelf chip, AP Clutch, and be happy with around 250bhp.
The headwork and Cam needed to make a ZVH have a nice usable power band will set you back around Ł1000, and then you'll be breaking box's all the time mate, IMO.

No worries mate, always a bit of fun experimenting and it's only my opinion of course, some people love ZVH's, I think it's the big torque spike most of them have makes the car feel fast!
