Default abs question

Alright chaps.

Im in the middle of replacing m box and its really to go back in basically the problem i have is that i have snapped the abs belts and cant be assed to get replacements.

so can i jsut put the abs setup back on without the belts and cable tie the sensors shut so i dont get any dash lights and so it will pass its mot ?

its a s2 1989

p.s i dont wana completly remove the as system yet.

will that not effect the overall abs system? You may as well remove the lot, won't take you long.

The light will come on the dash, you will need to bridge the plug inside to switch the light off. But then if the MOT tester is proper he should see if the light comes on with ignition and goes off when started.

did all rs turbos come with thedash light ? and abs ...

yes. There might be the odd one that for whatever reason didnt as ford did randomly do wierd things everynow and then with the Mk3 and mk4.

so just taking the bulb out wont do the trick then? Then again i had once took what i thought was the correct bulb and the abs light still lit up.

rs turbo and xr3i, cabrio etc, abs lamp should come and go off with the handbrake light, thats the correct sequence, so either tie wrap the switch's closed (the belt tension switch's that is) 0r bridge the wiring on the plugs.

For mot the light has to follow sequence described on the vts (mot computer)

Even if components are clearly missing as long as the light follows correct sequence its

So i can just tie wrap the switchs ? saves me speding the money on belts ......
