Default ecu problem

i took my air box off to have a look at what ecu ive got but the sticker has long gone.So i took it off and someone has scratched b r b so would i be right in thinking its blue red blue.Or is some body going to spoil my day and say it could be black red black the car reg is g721oke if someone can shed any light?Many thanks in advance

being a g reg i would think it would be a hearts, diamonds hash type as its a later rst

its got motronic stamped in to it but i suppose they all have that.Is there any other way i can check?

its likely to be a blue red black if its says b r b. from what ive heard most people regard the blue red black to be the same as heats and diamonds. they have the same part no, and accept the same chips. except the later one has an extra letter on the end of the part no

hearts and diamonds can run more boost 10psi where as the others can only run standard boost

took the ecu apart and this is it i dont think its been chipped but not surecan any one tell me what ecu it is from the pictures

The hearts and diamond has i a higher processing rate therefore can hold a little more bost. im pretty sure you can use any of them as long as the fuel ecu is the correct one.

The metal plate with the letter T written on you need to take that off and see if there is a sticker underneath indicating what chip it is

ive got the chance of a chipped ecu and fuel ecu both from the same car but its blue red blue so would it work in mine?

you have to have the right fuel ecu for your year of car otherwise you will have fuel pressure issues i believe...

What are the wires going to the ecu cover?
there is the main circuit board and then a smaller one on the cover but im not sure why.If i buy the blue red blue ecu will i need the fuel ecu also to make them a matched pair or just the main ecu with my fuel ecu?

Try and get one of the later two mate hearts and diamonds or blue red black dont think you will have any problems as your cars a g reg

Im pretty sure it will work, if youve got one mate, give it a bash. But if youve gotta buy one then you might aswell go for the better ecu that originated from your car.

well im hoping i can get both ecu,s for about £15 if there not compatible what will happen cos i dont want a rs paper weight on the drive lol
