smell of fuel from no2 cylinder
right ive have some issues with my car overfueling etc. just got the head rebuilt and the car running. still has a bit of a mis about it. last night i took the plugs out and they are a bit sooty but there was a strong smell of fuel coming from number 2 cylinder.
i swapped the injector with cylinder 4 ran it for a couple of minutes and took the plugs out again but cyl2 still had the smell?
any ideas?

all new gaskets fitted, tried new plugs, leads, complete dizzy and coil. even tried ecu's.
start it up it has a rapid misfire, that clears and then has an initial miss when revved?
car on stands so not had it a run yet. thought it was weak spark and thats why the plugs were sooty but replace all the ignition side, meter unit.....
stuck!

Had this before with K-Jet 3i, I took it to a place to get the fuel and fuel control pressures checked. Came back okay and it fixed itself, never happened again. It is quite frustrating because I changed injectors as well before going to the garage.
Try and find a good old school mechanic to check control pressures but before that check dizzy cap very carefully for cracks and change leads as well.
I have known new spark plugs to be faulty so perhaps a new set of plugs (if it does not fix it they will come in for the next service so no loss).
edit, just thought could be old crappy fuel or water in the fuel system.

just the normal cvh turbo. this is the 2nd set of recent plugs, gaps 'look' fine but ill get some gauges the day and double check the gaps. tank looks pretty recent tbh so wouldnt expect water in there.
there is always a miss there. its not for clearing. the bores were washed with the amount of fuel passing through there. thats why the head was re-done, the faults i found
throttle body to man gasket split
injector o ring split and rest badly perished
cold start inj slack
1 bent exh valve-very slight
all exh valves carboned up with no seatings with the head
all inlet valves mirror so no proper seat with the head either
bores glazed, sump full of black petrol.
all this has been sorted now
