will a piper 285t2 cam be alright with a standard cam wheel?

Default will a piper 285t2 cam be alright with a standard cam wheel?

as above my mate got 1 i can have of him but was wondering if it would be ok with standard cam wheel, will the valves close in time? and would it run like a bucket of shit?

any advice would be great

Cam wheel? Do you mean pulley? If so yes it will be fine.

na it will be fine ive had 2 rs turbos like that the only difference i found was with an adjustable pully on and set up i got a much smoother power delivery... without it can be quite a harsh delivery.

I'm kinda with Mark, when I had my XR2 rr'd the guy checked the timing by advancing and retarding the timing using the adjustable pulley. It made about 5bhp difference per degree so it will run with STD cam pulley but will only be at full potential with a vernier pulley.
