Default clutch problem

ive had a problem with the clutch on my rs over the last few day's, ratchet started clicking a while ago, but the last few day's its been getting stiff changing gear and has got worse,(had to double clutch it last night), so its outside and i cant get a gear, there's plenty of pressure in the pedal when pressed, could it be the ratchet and pawl? stuck another cable on it and it was still the same

cheers, neil

i'd change the rachet and pawl for a manual adjustable one off a mk5 (?), then try it again.
in all honesty i'd be checking clutch for damage to pressure plate mor ethan owt, but the rachet and pawl will need replacing anyhow, just seems a result of something else knackered.

seems your right, fitted a new ratchet and pawl and its still the same, its got a metalic rattle nosie coming from the bell housing aswell, so gearbox out time

luckily it's an easy job on an escort, two or three hours tops and it'll be out and back in.
can't say the same for the alfa gtv 3.0 v6 i'm doing flywheel and clutch on today though
