Exclamation Escort RS turbo tunning - help please

Hey everybody!

I own a spec 90 ford escort rs turbo and I want to tune it to achieve about 300 bhp. I'v already started to get some equipment but I still have a few doubts about the correct material to acquire and tune.
My base is the RS turbo converted to EFI management (OFAB) and:
- Accralite forged pistons (1,5 mm oversized, comp. ratio about 7,8:1);
- Con rods THS UK-Performance;
- GRS-Motorsport intercooler (large front model);
- Stage III head (Burton Power);
- Lightweighted and balanced crankshaft ando flywheel.

What do I need to acheive the pretended bhp (material and tunning[chip, mapping...etc]) with reliability, so I don't go 5k miles and get trip assistance

In my idea, this is the missing equipment I thought it would be enough but...I need to be certain about it so I dont spend all my cash wrongly:
- High pressure oil pump (Burton Power);
- ACL Bearings (big end and main);
- Kent cam double valve spring set;
- Newman camshaft sprint CVH turbo 1600 phase IV and solid lifters;
- Hybrid turbo exchange, 2wd cosworth YB (Burton Power) - stage II;
- Bosch fuel injectors 803 green;
- Power boost valve FSE;
- Cometic multi-shim head gasket;
- AP ARacing clutch kit CVH/Zetec 220mm four(cross) paddle;
- Bailey swirl pot;
- Bailey oil separator tank;
- Bailey header tank;
- Mongoos stainless steel exhaust system
...and...
- Forge Motorsport actuator (20-28 PSI enough???)
- Fuel pump (what model and where to buy???)
- My ECU suports anti-lag?

- what's the correct pressure for my comp. ratio and equipment?
- gearbox: can it handle?(1.6d fiesta gearbox with an 3.33 final drive)

Basicly: is this enough/correct? what else do I need? are there any special attention in all this material assembly?

Opinions/comments/ideas please...

regards

From what i know.... loose the OFAB as it's not easily mappable and you cant get an off the shelf chip for what you want to do!
Also none of the bailey stuff is needed except maybe the breather setup, nor is the Cometic gasket, the Power boost valve FSE, and you probably dont need double valve springs either.

You need new management, Omex, Megasquirt, VEMS, Gotech, Cossie, Etc....
Here in the UK very very few tuners can map OFAB so in Portugal I think 0% chance

- High pressure oil pump (Burton Power); (arguably needed)
- ACL Bearings (big end and main);
- Kent cam double valve spring set; (Use the Newman items)
- Newman camshaft sprint CVH turbo 1600 phase IV and solid lifters;
- Hybrid turbo exchange, 2wd cosworth YB (Burton Power) - stage II;
- Bosch fuel injectors 803 green;
- Power boost valve FSE; (Throw in skip)
- Cometic multi-shim head gasket; (standard Ford will suffice)
- AP ARacing clutch kit CVH/Zetec 220mm four(cross) paddle;
- Bailey swirl pot; (not required the thermostat housing has one built in)
- Bailey oil separator tank;
- Bailey header tank;
- Mongoos stainless steel exhaust system

- Forge Motorsport actuator (20-28 PSI enough???)
- Fuel pump (what model and where to buy???)
- My ECU suports anti-lag?

- what's the correct pressure for my comp. ratio and equipment?
- gearbox: can it handle?(1.6d fiesta gearbox with an 3.33 final drive) (no chance, will need a specially rebuilt box and a LSD or ATB differential)

Basicly: is this enough/correct? what else do I need? are there any special attention in all this material assembly?

You will need a decent engine management system to achieve the figures you are seeking, I would strongly advise you speak to a reputable tuner about what you need (i.e not Burton Power), A genuine 300bhp figure will require a lot of money being spent.

Hey! My idea was to use my OFAB and a custom chip made there in UK(motorsport developments, i would sent my spec's to there so they could map a chip) but my doubt is that if it is possible to do it without my car there (weather conditions...air...humidity...etc)...

last time i spoke to motorsport developments about my evolution chip was when i was enquiring about changing injectors to go bigger than beige's, and they said anything above beige's and it needs to be a live map so you would have to have the car bought over here, they wouldnt just be able to set a chip to run any injectors then send it back to you, and theres no way you'll get 300bhp on beige injectors.
