I saw some chap on ebay selling sets a while ago, i guess he made them up to sell as i did em for a few cars but not seen em for a while. I had been told that stainless should not be used as its weeker than normal steel?!?!? not sure how true that is.

its not that they are weaker they are infact stronger just very brittle and snap easy then due to them being stronger are hard as foooook to drill out!

as above, they have less tensile strength, typically 6.6, whereas mild steel are 8.9, 10.9 or 12.9.

Have them degreased, blasted and zinc plated in either silver or yellow passivate

I would be careful of the guy on ebay selling the "shiny bolt kits"
I think he drop ships them. I waited 1 month and got various excuses. after much googling I found his mobile number on a vw forum and I eventually got my money back. He's from Canvey Island and changes ebay accounts frequently as he gets very bad feedback.

I would also like to add that 80% of the bolts you would not even use as they do no match the Ford items and as Bill mentioned im sure they are drop shipped.

Yellow passivate is good coating, my car bolts and brackets are yellow passivated too. Not expensive and some places give you shotblast parts for yourself for little coffee money.
