any thoughts on running new lifters on an old cam?

im running a cvh34 cam with anti pump lifters in my cab at the moment but a couple of the lifters are getting a bit tappy now, i'v got a new set of anti pump lifters from another kent cam kit in 1 of my other cars of which im only using the cam due to running solid lifters in it so would i be alright to use the new set of lifters with the old cvh34 cam?

a couple of people have said they'll kill the cam, is this true? i dont want to be changing the cam ideally as its only just been mapped and the cam itself is fine at the moment.

as above, it will work for a bit, but as they don't wear together it's like taking a metal file to fresh metal, it'll wear really fast till it groves the same, by which time your cam lobes will wear down a lot.

maybe using thicker oil may be the key to this problem for you
what grade are you using at the moment?

inspect for wear, and if it's ok then accept the noise.
