Default heater prob

the problem is when the engine is warm the heater is only luke warm, all pipes under the bonnet are hot, the heater box is hot down the right hand side, but the heater is only blowing warm on the first speed, if i click it onto speed 2 or 3 it blows cold,

cheers, neil

Maybe a build up of gunk inside your heater matrix. give the heater matrix a flush out as this can stop water passing it properly.

will try that too, will a rad flush be ok or will it need the hose treatment?

The hose will be fine just remove both hoses from the bulkhead and wash it through both ways. you may get a load of brown water come out if its bad. just dont have the hose tap on to hard, gently does it ok!

the gauge sits on m of 'norm' (the fan kicks in between m and r) and when i drive it drops down between the solid white block at the bottom and m. defo got a stat in there, saw it when i did hg last december. you can see the water swirling around in the header tank when its warm????????

check that the feed and return hoses are hot and if thats the case try the lever that changes the temp from hot to cold on the heater box is not stuck/playing up!
