D4, first off. While you did make yourself look a massive spakker on your original thread that is a huge shame and nobody deserves that. Shame.
So, what is the outcome? What did you pay? Any guarentee? How many miles did you get? What's been said? That sounds rougher than a budgies cage.
Wish i could say i was suprised...

HERE GOES!
this is a picture of the engine bay when i got the car back:
![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46/BlingRS/23062010176.jpg)
Dropped the car in june 2009
gave tuner the car with a power engineering stage 2 conversion running 233bhp
also gave him a brand new stage 3 big valve head with cam, fully gas flowed and ported and polished have reciept for £1000.
Also gave a brand new set of wossener pistons and pec rods and ap bolts.
What i wanted was for my car to be running independant management system and a reliable and solid engine.
I collected the car approx 1 year later.
drove it back and to london ace cafe,
a day later and it started to smoke.
spoke to tuner and he said to me what have a done to the car? i told him i have driven it to ace cafe and that was it, also i did not drive the car like a nutter just took it easy.
Then he said he would come collect the car within a few days from my work place.
I waited 2 weeks and several phone calls and messages left but still no replies or collection of the car.
I got fed up of waiting and decided to give the car to jamsport to see what was wrong.
jamsport checked engine and gave me a report and bascally the following problems were picked up:
turbo blown also it had been welded to manifold
injectors not seated properly and held in with silcon stuff.
piston damage due to injector leak and leaning
head was not a stage 3 head it was a completly standard rs turbo head.
efi plenuim was bodged completely and rendered useless.
the block was not flat so it would blow the headgaskit.
Injectors were also no good.
Phone tuner up and advised him of the above problems and he did say he would cover all the work under warranty for the above.
I also was pissed off about my stage 3 head not been on the car and he told me that he had cracked it, however this was not told to me at the time of him building my engine up.
So he advised me he would collect the car and sort everything out.
He did not collect car and i had left many messages with his staff as he was never there!
so i decided to speak with jamie and not have any more heartache and worries of my car been ruined.
Bottom line was i gave the car for over 1 year to the tuner and even in that time he was unable to make a reliable running car.
I have had my fingers burnt badly and learnt my lesson.

Wow!
I would want to see the "cracked" head if it was mine....when i have damaged parts, they have always been waiting in a pile for me to inspect.
Roughness....

Bloody hell mate!
You want to put that in General Discussion and make people aware, there's people on here that take their car there!
Even if there's another side to this story that inlet manifold looks horrendous! Is it just the picture or is it not symmetrical across all for cylinders? Looks 'notched' for the first cylinder?!![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shocked.gif)
Dare I ask how much they charged?

Aye, told ya
Jamsport are great with CVH's/
Crazy though...was you told 300bhp...then when you asked again they said it was 270bhp...and it was something like 185bhp? What other issues? Sadly this happens a fair bit it would appear.

D4, thats the most coherent well written few paragraphs i have ever seen you type. Keep it up!! Sorry to hear about your car, i think you were a bit of an idiot going on and on about it last year but you don't deserve that.
I don't know why you just don't go down there and have a face to face chat? why hide behind the phone. I certainly wouldn't!
Morph, you were utterly singing their praises a few years back and got quite rude any time someone mentioned your lack of 300 brake. If you hadn't sung their praises so much i wonder if d4 would have ever gone there in the first place?

However regarding me singing prasies, i did until i had the car checked over and found out the following things:
the claimed 276bhp was infact 200bhp
the brakes were dangerous,
the inlet was not supported to the plenuim in anyway apart for the injectors holding it in place
the injectors were not seated far enough in.
numerous bolts missing from engine
the manifold had a bolt in it which wasn't even tight.
the co 2 level was around 11% idle.
mapping was awefull.
even though the above things were wrong the rebuild was ok on my car.
just finishing touches were not right.

Yet another customer that came away with an engine that only lasted about 80miles before going bang after spending £1000's with them, IIRC they rebuilt it after a cam failure and didnt even change the oil so the swarf then ripped out the main/big end shells

Most blokes couldn't tell the difference between 200 hp and 300 anyhow - both power levels will melt tires, and break standard gearboxes.
I personally don't want a 300 hp front drive escort (4500 to 6000 power band) - hoping for a wide useable powerband (2500 to 6000 rpm).
Cheers guys!
