Hello all.


I've been having problems with the RS again. i had a huge rattle noses coming from the head, i removed the rocker cover and noticed that one of the followers was more than lose, bolt was finger tight.

2 weeks sat i cranked the car over and it fired up, sound, but still had the rather annoying tapping and missfire on boost. = Valve stuck open due to what i found, the foller being lose.

So, off i went and got a set of new lifters, since im doing it may aswell get some new ones. i found the Tq settings and went on my ways of sorting this problem, well as im working in the week and i had to get them sent to my home address i waited untill the following sunday. mid week i went and gave the car a crank over, to make sure it still ran, of course i wanted to run it at 2,000 revs to get it warm, then let it cool,

Come time to crank over weds. it wouldnt fire up, wired, starter motor was going FOOKING CRAZY, i mean, no clicking. well i gave a thought that the starter was going in the bin but again, no time as i was away working as per normal.

Come sunday i rang a mate to come give me a hand, as of course i had no starter motor to crank over the engine. still on the car, but decided its time to give up and say ''FOOK THIS I AINT DOING NO MORE WORK'' waving its arms all over the place.

Cover off, Remove 1 lifter at a time, going from left to right, up and down, Tq them up to the correct settings. Sound as, of course they was in a box of oil, but incase got myself some more mobile 1 shit hot mother of god stuff and left them to settle, lobed them up and placed them in, made sure they went in with a smooth movement, babies bottom. Cover on, cover bolts in, tighten up to a correct TQ, don’t want to brake any inside the head.

Now its time to crank it over, as you may of noticed the starter motor is on drugs, not sure what, but ones that make you go loopy, running around shouting FOOK THIS SHIT IM MENTAL. so of course bumping was in the pipe line.

I went to bump the car, of course i wanted to make sure the rattle wasn’t anything else, with my bottom end in good smooth working ways i knew it wouldn’t be a shell or maybe the crank skipping.

Would it bump, Would it fuck, it wanted to go, but just when you place your foot on the power to the metal peddle it just then wouldn’t do anything, like your Misses in bed, Cba tonight Darling. Whatever im still trying''

Now, i got everything check, plugs, leds, coil, fuel, spark, you name it i checked it, then again, and again.

Now, i cranked the bottom end via the crankshaft to make sure the bottom end was not Grinding. Of course this was smooth, Free and easy to turn over by hand.

Now the main problem i can here

i got this said mate to crank over the car, even with this Drugged up starter motor, was fine on sat day, i went into town on a piss up ''cant drink though'' and the car must of also went on a rather large drug fest and the starter was on drugs, must of, cant really tell you much more.

Now when i start the car, with the KEY, i put my head, into the zorst, listion to this noes i here, its like a real Quite pop, each time the engine turns over.


What the fucking hell is that? Surely its not the starter motor being sick? or has had a bad curry and doing the MORNING FARTS.



Please someone; Tell me im of course say, im having fuel problems

not to worry folks, Sorted the problem, was indeed the Meaturing unit.
