Default Been on the rollers yesterday

well finally put the rs turbo on the rollers again.

Went fine although there seems to be a problem with it holding the torque.
It drops verry fast and the max bhp's are reached at 4670 rpm and staying about there till 6100 rpm.
We think this could be because of the to small pipe diametre of the exhaust manifold ( smaller then the exhaust ports ), what do you guys think.

Stil made 261,8 bhp at 4670 and 395 nm at 4600@ arround peak 1.3 bar holding 1.1 bar

little video

Blimey the poor thing must have been getting hot, seemed to take forever to wind up! Why did they rev it so slowly, might just be the video but you can't really make out where it starts coming on boost and revving hard. Sounds sweet though mate

The engine was indeed getting verry hot and they revd it right away, don't know why it doesn't show where the turbo gets in..
Anyway, figures are ok but if it had hold the torque the bhp would be closer to 300 then 260.
Well we've got something to work on

I'll make up another manifold setup this winter.
For the smoke, turbo was a loaned standard cossy t3 one as i blew up my own at the last meeting here in holland at the sprint
Maybe it's not all that anymore...

Cold air fan is against the wall a bit to far from the car imo but they said it was fine like this.... extractionpipe isn't there... gasses go straight out of the building... where i was filming was outside....

ok fair enough, usually the cold air fan is closer than that!

what was causing the smoke on over-run?

i think the turbo housing may be the problem in my opinion, go up a size, you should be on a 0.63 to get more out of it.

Surely a t3 .48 can get 300 out of a 2 litre engine or should i give a t34 a try...
Really wanted a gt28 but those are a bit expensive....
