S2 Starting problem Help
Hi guys,
I have just bought a s2 rs turbo, When it is started it seems to run well, good on boost etc... But it occasionally it cuts out on tick over and will not restart. Same if i turn the car off and try a hot start.
I can get it to start most of the time by taking the filter off and getting some one to push the metering unit flap down and then back up.
Just flooded it though so drying the plugs out.
It has a mild piper cam, a 2wd cossy t3, bigger intercooler and around 15psi but apart from that it is standard.
Please help!!! i don't want to have to sell it straight after buying it because i can't get it to be reliably
Cheers

no, but when cold the car will start and i can hear the pump running....
Just done a load of searching and i think the metering unit could be well up the duff, any one know if i should be able to smell (strongly) fuel when i manually push the metering flap open?
Read a lot about thermal switches being a problem?
Cheers

THE CAR IS FIXED hurra.
Took every connector off the thing today, inlet manifold off, throttle body off all cleaned. Intercooler and rad out... Intercooler has a pinprick leak that i have temp bodged. New coolant sensor. All connectors and earths cleaned.
Some one had bodged all hoses from the Amal so i think there were a few leaks. and the bloody metering unit to turbo hose was the wrong length with a massive kink in the middle.
Stiffened the spring in my dump valve.
Then set up the mixture (co pot).
The car starts on the button now with no gas. So for any one with a similar problem do the above before sourcing a new metering unit.
cheers,
