Default engine rebuilds

Well my rs doesnt need one (yet lol) but whats involved in one and can i do a minor rebuild to prevent it going pop? dont want it to go bang and other than driving like a grandma what can i do??

you can look after it by using decent oil, changed regular, let it warm up and cool down properly, proper maintanence is essential, having it set up by a tuner helps

apart from getting it looked at by a tuner i do the rest. its getting a top service this week but dont know when it was last rebuilt or if it ever has.

i built a few engiens not hard stait forword to do but i would advise to every one with one put some new main and big end bearings in if your engine has never been touched

Whats parts do i need to do a rebuild? gaskets , bolts do i need pistons or not do i get forged or standard ( would like to have 220-250hp one day)?

the best thing to do is give it a good service with every thing oil plugs the works forget about the bearings and pistons. if your wanting that much your cheapest and best way is buy an engine running or not can get them cheap then build it in your spear time or in a day for less the Ł500 for a band new block however original pistons are hard to get infact i think i got the last set in country and the engine will be good for upto 200 bhp with all standerd inturnals

sounds good to me. im planning a long haul project. building an engine from the ground up would be easier.
