Default people running 300+ bhp...

what headwork do you need to do to make the 300bhp mark?
also which injectors? (is it posible on 803's)?
which turbo? (can it be done on a t3 with a t34 compressor wheel?
thanks in advance !

Stage 3 big valve head is must as stock valves bottle neck at around 250bhp, Newmans cam i'd agree with but not double valve springs they specifically say not to use them! Even a Stage 3 T3 (48/55) would not flow enough for 300+bhp i'd look at something bigger! Dont know what 803's are good for. Pistons, rods, yup and arp bolts to hold it all together!

mines 300+ and i dont have a stage 3 head, running pretty much standard valves just ported and polished with a uprated cam and double valve springs.
and my turbo is a stage 3 t3 and that is managing fine with 300.

Agree-bottom end must be steel rods and forged pistons though!

Interesting! Where was it Dyno'd?
NMS and APT have both told me that the standard valve size become restrictive at around 240-250bhp, and a Stage 3 T3 is only rated to 280bhp max!

standard valves are already big to start with mate, also i know a few people running st3 t3s running 320hp its a very good turbo, you can get the mahle pistons machined for lower comp they will run 350hp,but change the rods to steel, then you will run into gearbox issues if thats standard

tried a couple of dynos mate and both reading about the same or near 303bhp and 310bhp.
mines a s1 head which i believe had the better valves to start with so maybe he was refering to a s2 head?

Hold on, are you for real?

Stage 3 T3, 320bhp?

You DON'T know a FEW people with 320bhp, well, not on a CVH anyway. Not a PROPER 320bhp.

At what boost? Can we see graphs please?

Sounds like I need to rethink my strategy. I'm obviously not trying hard enough.

if you phone turbo technics up they will tell you st3 turbo is good for 280hp but you can run more, if you run more you will damage the engine that is the reply i got from them

Ok perhaps some people believe it is possible........... maybe it is at an extreme push? Maybe some rollers say 'X'bhp and other 'Y'bhp.........but lets just say that it will be easier, and more reliable with a Stage 3 head and a bigger spec turbo, I think thats the best answer!

IMO a T34 0.48 will only just do 320bhp, let alone a T3.

Mind you, there are some funny old Dyno's out there.

Mines 400bhp, by the way.

do agree dyno's are so out that they should only be regarded as an estimate of the power, things like ambient temps, barometric pressure, all play a big part.

No, not 400bhp. LOL.

Yet. (joke, 400bhp isn't going to happen. 350 and I'd be well happy).

But standard springs won't do 350bhp, so they need changing... so a 'standard' head won't do that power.

wot he ment was you dont need lairy cams ported and polished head,to break the 300+ barrier uprated springs are hardly a highly modified head, more for less thats my moto anyway
