How hard would it be to say, make my own loom for xr3i cab?
Car is stripped to shell, and complete standard loom is bagged up neatly rolled up.
I could just make another identical next to it? With a few tweaks of my own, and obviously new cable.
How long d'ya reckon it'd take? 3 days start to finish? I think so for an amateur...

pay the money, get a reciept. theres a reason there are people making a living specialising in it.

i personally wouldn't bother. how would you troubleshoot a loom you made yourself? would you buy 30 reels of wire to make them different colours? if you even had 10 reels you'd have 2 or 3 duplicates. not good when troubleshooting.

i'm inclined to disagree. if you're proficient with wiring and in particular the terminations side of things it can be a very good idea. with a decent wiring diagram and either the car or an old loom to take measurements from it can be very easy to make a new loom. all you need really is access to the correct cable and connectors.

good point but how much would a custom one cost if you could find someone willing to do it? plus in my mind there are two big plus points, 1 you know it's new and will work as advertised and 2, there is a huge amount of satisfaction in doing it yourself. i'm not trying to have a dig, i just think if you can and want to then why not build you're own loom?

20K+ Super Poster.
The guy I use does pro looms and always interested in doing one off stuff, actually prefers it to the "boredom" factor of same one all the time, made for some very famous names in all forms of motorsport inc F1.
