my safety devices 6 point is a slag to get the front section bolted together!

and dont ever fit it with the doors off, because u will soon realise u cant get to the hinge bolts as the cage decides to sit right in the bloody way

that said, being a tight fit is a good sign that its been designed correctly for optimum safety i guess

back section just goes in a tad easier if u squeeze it slightly with a ratchet strap, although mine went in fine as it was. front section cant really be ratcheted about as its more of a jigsaw puzzle working out which piece to fit and in wot position

nope, the safety devices 6 point comes down infront of the dash and blocks the glove box.

1st time i fitted mine, i spent a few hours getting it bolted in, only to realise id left my stereo facia and cd's in the glovebox which was wedged shut

and yeh the rear section flies in with the interior out, put mine in myself without any extra hands or ratchet straps etc. just the front section needs a lot of faffing. i think the key is to tilt the rear section back and fit 1 of the front side bars, then fit the front cross bar, and then fit the other front bar with it on the angle, and kinda use brute force and ignorance and lots of smashing of the other bars until it drops into place

then pray it never has to come out lol

My front section is SO SO close to the car all the way from where it joins the rear section at the pillar over the top of the door.

I can get my glove box open, but only just enough to squeeze a little pixie hand in.

I too have an OMP 6 point bolt in job,and it was mad tight and a struggle. But I think thtas a good thing, cause if you think about it,what good is a loose/ill fitting cage to you, if you end up on youre roof??? Answer.........NONE!!! And after Simon's big crash last month,it justs shows how important a proper fitted cage is inside any trackday RST.Regards,Micky

Ive got a roll centre 6 point- i wasnt too happy with the fit tbh and i would have fitted it differently with hindsight.
The back went in pretty straightforward, with the B pillar legs up against where the rear floorpan comes up for the back seat and with the C pillar feet on the inner arches.
With the cage in this position, when the front legs are fitted there is a bit of a gap between the front legs and A pillars. I ended up fitting strengthening fillets to fill the gap! With hindsight i would have moved the whole lot further forward and then built little boxes off the inner rear arches to pick up the rear feet.
One advantage of having that gap though is that you can retain sun visors as there is enough room for them to fit down the front of the crossbar at the top of the screen!
Another thing i wasnt happy about is where the feet mount to the floor. They come inboard quite a bit onto the flimsy part of the floorpan, so i put in extra strengthening with triangulation to the sills.
I also fitted rollcentres fron triangulation kit which consists of unprofiled tubes that you have to fabricate yourself and weld in place. Even though these are welded in, you also get brackets so it bolts to the front legs of the cage rather than weld.
Incidentally i went for rollcentre because they were the only people i could find that did a bolt in cage that penetrated the dash, and thats what i wanted.
Door bars are also relatively low and easy to climb over too...
