F**k it! I'm going EFI and Megasquirt!!
There really is sooo much to be gained from going EFI..... economy, drivability, reliability, response, power, I think it has to be done!
My budget is tight but with selling a few of my old MFI parts and some other shit I have laying around I should just be able to muster the funds for EFI running Megasquirt!
I've landed a EFI inlet manifold, throttle body, injector rail (with blues), FPR, ICV, TPS, and injector loom for £85, EFI to MFI head conversion plate for £36, and will probably be buying Megasquirt II MS2-Extra v3.57 from http://www.extraefi.co.uk/ms2_products.htm for £360 including loom, data cable, software etc... unless I can find the same cheaper else where! So all in around the £500 mark give or take a bit, will of course need some beiges, a trigger wheel, VR sensor, and a pipe to go from the fuel filter to the rail!
I'll be fitting it myself, and Garage19 has very kindly offered to help me with the mapping!
Hopefully all will be done within the next 4 weeks!

MS for my budget, and it can be live mapped where as OFAB/OFAC is limited to what chip you can buy off the shelf so to speak, also I'm really keen to learn basic mapping myself!!
My bottom end is good for 220bhp to 250bhp like all stock RS bottom ends, what boost i'll be running is a result of my engines VE and target BHP so I dont know yet!

i have an efi flywheel if you want that. it owes me £12 plus postage if your interested.
you already have the rest of the efi stuff i have - but if you havent i've got an inlet, fuel rail, throttle body and flywheel i would sell you for £60 plus postage. i really need some cash.

I've megasquirted my Pinto with GXSR throttle bodies and mapped it myself.
It's an awesome experience if a little frustrating at times. I;m sure you'll enjoy the experience immesnely.
Give me a shout if I can be of any assiastance (pm me, I have a habit of losing topics I've replied to!).

Flywheel:
Get the flywheel and forget abou thte trigger wheels. You'll be happy in the end. It really is one of the only "fit and forget" options. Zero possiblity for things to go wrong or need tuning.
Injectors:
Don't over size to your needs or just get the first ones you get hold of. 475cc/min is quite a lot for a 1.6cc engine unless you go over 300bhp. Cossie's 311cc/min is on the low side plus usually 15 years olds.

So 311cc to small, 475cc to big, what do you recommend? Surely if I use 475cc the injector duty will just be quite small, is that a problem? In fact how can cossie ones be too small?? They run on a 2.0L producing what... 220bhp out the factory?
I've got to give Doug a bell and pop up to see him one saturday, so he can go through a few things with me so i'll let you know mate!

If you convert yours and have it started and running in one day Karlos, you can do mine the next day
I might go down this route one day, but knowing my funds and luck of late, that day will be a long way away!
Get the pics as a step by step innit... That'd help loads of people out
